"What the heck was she thinking?" Cooling off was not in Hailey's list especially if she was in a bad mood. There she was, attending and about to enjoy her very first party here at Karsun, dolled up in a glittery, pink gown that looked as if it had been taken and increased in size from her Barbie doll. Quickly, she put on her matching glittery, white mask to conceal her identity from the rest of the world. It was all Hailey's fault for trying to sneak out of the house like that. Imagine her a few hours ago, donning a black dress with matching combat boots. She wanted to dress what's her--rock and roll with a feminine twist. Sadly, her mother had to stop her and insist her in wearing the pink gown she bought. She couldn't say no. Her mother was also the one who drove her all the way to school, making sure she won't change her outfit. Hailey, look at yourself. Such a pretty face like that shouldn't be paired up with a gothic ensemble. You look like you stepped outside a horror movie. She sighed upon reminiscing what happened a while ago. Oh, how she find it annoying when she was told what to do. Her "gothic ensemble" was now hidden somewhere safe inside her parents' room so that there would be no chance of her to undergo any metamorphosis. I hate my life, I hate my life, I hate my life. That she would repeat over and over inside her head. She wasn't in the mood to socialize. Somebody just had to ruin her day. There in the corner did she sulk and fold her arms, envying the girls who get to dance properly in the clothes they find most comfortable with.

Dolliana was more than excited for the Halloween Ball this year. Even though she had been questioning how she felt about her field of study lately, she could not deny what a fun place Karsun Academy was. And despite the many barriers Dolly could tend to put up, she loved being social and being kept occupied.
Tonight was the perfect event. Dolly loved to get 'all dolled up'--it suited her quite well. After applying some light make up and curling her hair into soft waves, she had changed into the dress she had for the occassion: a beautifully unique, vintage pink gown. With one last mirror check, she had left for the ball, hoping to run into her new friends.
At the ball, Dolliana placed an ivory mask over her eyes. It was a masquerade ball, after all. Though she was pretty certain most people would recognize her, she still liked to have fun with the idea.
The place wasn't too crowded yet, but she knew it would be full very soon. Dolly looked around for some familiar faces, but no one jumped out at her from behind their masks. Deciding to make her rounds, Dolly came across a pink creature in the corner whom she did not recognize--mask or no mask.
Giving the girl a once-over, she declared, "Hey, I like your dress! It's real cute."

Hailey wanted to shudder upon hearing that this girl had just complimented on her dress. First off, since when did her dress become cute if it looked like a copy of Barbie's most used clothes ever since the 1970s?
She twitched and looked down to check out the overview of her dress. Ugh... I think I'm getting blind from all the glitters, she thought. She faced the girl who looked older than her. Taking off the white mask that hid her identity, she then asked, "Really?"
Hmm... This girl seems nice. Quickly, she had to thank her. "Uh... thanks! But I really don't like pink and the glitters just don't really tell who I really am. My mom forced me into wearing this," she began, still feeling embarrassed, "Your dress is nice. You're very lucky you get to pick anything you wanna wear."
She then felt a strange feeling on her head. Ugh! The stupid crown. It kept on falling off. Why does mom keep on forgetting that I'm not her little princess anymore?
She also felt something else--her heels! Curse those high heels. She could feel her feet aching. She wanted to take those shoes off and change into her trusty Chucks.
Luckily, there was someone who would be able to make her day.
